The most common thread type used by fire departments today is NST or National Standard Thread, which is also referred to as NH or National Hose, and even NHT or National Hose Thread. However, NST or NH is more commonly used these days, as they are synonymous.

In contrast, NPSH (National Pipe Straight Hose) or IPT (Iron Pipe Thread) has the same threads per inch (TPI) as NPT (National Pipe Tapered), but the thread does not taper. NPSH is a straight thread and seals by a gasket in the female coupling, which allows for a swivel, just like NH/NST. This makes both thread types ideal for hose couplings. However, it is important to note that a male NPSH coupling will not thread into a female metal or PVC pipe, as it is not compatible with NPT.

If your fire hose is designed for a 1" NPSH nozzle, this 1" NH/NST nozzle will be too big for your hose. The internal diameter (IDM) of a 1" NST/NH nozzle is 1.2445" and conforms to the NFPA 1963 Standard for Fire Hose Connections 2014 Edition. Therefore, it is crucial to check the thread of your hose before placing an order.

This 1" NH/NST nozzle is recommended for use with fire hoses and fire hose racks, whether lined or unlined. It is designed for extinguishing fires and can be used for a variety of applications, such as in fire fighter stations, greenhouses, dust suppression, and evaporative cooling.

The nozzle is made of premium brass material, which provides resistance to high temperatures, impact, and corrosion, making it an excellent watering equipment. The adjustable fog nozzle allows for easy control by rotating to adjust the spray size, from a straight stream to a conical fog, providing consistent volume at any spray angle and the capability of complete shutoff.

If you have any questions regarding compatibility or any dissatisfaction with the product, please feel free to contact our professional fire nozzle development team, and we will be happy to assist you in resolving the issue perfectly.
